For ING, a large international bank based in The Netherlands, we were tasked to develop a proof-of-concept online shop for desktop, and a mobile app that featured an entirely new way of executing and handling online payments.
The functionalities featured in the web shop have been integrated in known online retail web shops as pilots, to explore the feasibility and applicability of the new payment concept. e.g. Albert Heijn (supermarkets) and HEMA (retail stores). We were responsible for the graphical, functional and technical designs. Next to that we have been working with Mastercard in order to link our tooling to their highly secured workflows.
This new payment concept was based on using a phone together with a QR code scanner instead of using regular bankcards.
